
Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins

Born and raised in Sitka, Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins attended Yale College and was first elected to the Alaska Legislature in 2012 at the age of 23. Over his five terms in office, Jonathan focused on long-term fiscal policy, fisheries management, and Alaska Native revitalization. In 2014, The Washington Post named him one its “Top 40 Under 40” in the country.
Outside the legislature, he founded Outer Coast College in Sitka, and Alaska Fellows Program, a 9-month residential fellowship program. He also cofounded Act Now Coalition. He serves on the board of all three organizations.
Jonathan currently serves as a senior advisor to the national policy nonprofit America Achieves. He enjoys music, long-distance running, and exploring the Alaskan backcountry.
