Senior Advisor for Election Infrastructure
As the Senior Advisor for Election Infrastructure, Gideon leads Responsive Gov’s efforts to enact sustainable and robust public funding for election administration at the federal and state levels. Prior to joining Responsive Gov he served as a Policy Advisor to Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform and as the Legislative Director at Issue One. Gideon’s background is as a historian of voting and election law during Reconstruction and the Gilded Age. He has taught courses on the history of voting rights and on Civil War memorialization at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California, Washington Program. He is a graduate of the University of California, Davis and Northwestern University and lives in exotic Silver Spring, Maryland.
